First edition.
Teresa Margarita Redi was able to serve only 4 years as a professed nun of the Order before her death; yet during this time she was revered for her ability to work with especially the handicapped and mentally ill nuns of the convent. Her eventually fatal illness so disfigured her body that it was not exhibited for public viewing; yet a few days after her death no trace of the illness remained and it was able to be displayed, incorrupt to this day. The present work was printed at the behest of the Prioress and nuns of St. Teresa in Florence, who sign the dedication – likely as an early attempt to promote the beatification of this mystic nun. The process was finally approved in 1929.
